European framework and TestDaF

European Framework

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) covers six levels of proficiency: A1 – C2. Each level comprises the modules reading, listening, writing and speaking. Levels A1 – B1 can also be studied by children, whereas levels B2 – C2 are for adults only. Examinations are taken by the Goethe Institute at their test centres and the qualifications can provide an internationally recognised proficiency level of the German language. This expertise could create opportunities in the business or academic world. Course material could be accompanied by additional resources such as online articles, reading publications or watching videos.

The TestDaF (Level 4) Qualification will provide access to a degree course at a German university or at institutions of higher education. This is the equivalent of B2 – C1 levels and will also enable the student to enter academic professions and to complete scientific projects. The examinations can be taken at test centres online.
